HOW EARLY DO I NEED TO ARRIVE AT THE AIRPORT?
Be sure to check in for your flights 24 hours in advance and arrive to the airport 2-3 hours before your international flight.
WHAT KIND OF DOCUMENTATION DO I NEED TO ENTER MEXICO?
A PASSPORT is required. You will be given a customs form on the plane or you can visit https://www.mexicotouristcard.com and print off your documents prior to departure.. Be sure to bring a pen to fill out your customs form if you do not print your form prior. Have your passport and flight information within reach on the plane. You will need to include your flight number and where you are staying.
DO I NEED TO KEEP ANY FORMS FROM IMMIGRATIONS?
YES. When you arrive to your destination you must first clear immigration, where you will receive a stamped stub from the tourist card. Please do not lose this, as you will need this documentation for your departure. Should you lose the stub, there is a fee to pay at the airport, and replacement is time consuming and could cause you to miss your flight home. Keep the stub and your passport together in a safe place during your trip.
DO WE NEED TO ALERT THE TRANSFER COMPANY IF OUR FLIGHT IS DELAYED?
No, they have your incoming flight information and a team that specializes in all incoming flights. They will adjust transportation should there be changes on your arrival times! They probably know your flight is late before you do!
HOW DO I LOCATE A LOMAS REP FOR TRANSPORTATION?
Please look for a representative in this attire.
When you walk out of the sliding glass doors you will turn to your right and JUST WALK. There are tour operators and other companies trying to sell you timeshares, tours, etc... just say you have it handled and walk past! Once you are outside you will look for a rep from Lomas who will be wearing a teal shirt and white pants and have a sign that reads The Vagablonde Travel company logo and your last names. If for some reason, you don’t see the sign just find the Lomas company and they will ask for your name and escort you! From there you are smooth sailing until you get to the resort! You have A 30 min drive so sit back and relax! Beers from drivers are safe to drink and you can get 2 Coronas for $5.
TIP your driver if you feel you had exception service! $5-10 per person is sufficient!
Use this to speak to a Lomas rep for anything transportation or tour related!
Be sure to also visit the Lomas Rep desk at the resort to confirm your pick up time for departure 24 hours in advance or use the LOMAS APP! These reps are not always at their post at the resort so you may need to check to see what time they will be there so you can set it all up but if you don’t do it, you may not get picked up lol! :) This is why I suggest the app to communicate with them!
SHOULD I USE MY SAFE AT THE RESORT?
YES! Put your passport, credit cards, electronics, and valuable jewelry in the safe when you arrive and don't take them out unless you need them. Keep some cash on you for tipping, but put the rest in the safe.
IS THERE A DRESS CODE AT THE RESORT?
Yes! However, if you would like to never get dressed, you can order room service for every meal but if you would like to go to the restaurants, some of them do have a strict dress code- especially for men. No tank tops for men- must have sleeves! I would also encourage men to bring slacks and closed toe shoes. For breakfast and lunch, swimsuits and cover ups with sandals are fine. Golf pants with a V-Neck are acceptable at most places but the “nicer” restaurant requires men to wear closed toe shoes, slacks, and a collared shirt so be sure to read the resort information packet with dress codes.
If you are interested in tours visit the Lomas Travel desk at your hotel and they can help arrange anything! You can also call Lomas Travel from the Lomas App.
EXTRA HELPFUL INFORMATION
GETTING BACK INTO THE US: If you don’t have Global Entry this is also a great app to use to expedite your arrival back to the US. Never a line using this! You even go into another line all together in immigrations! Find this sign and follow it! When arriving back to the US it’s usually all the way to the right, next to where the pilots and crew pass through!
***Download this apps and use this to breeze through customs coming back into the US!
