IS TRAVEL INSURANCE AVAILABLE?
YES! Depending on your trip and selections I can offer you appropriate Travel Insurance.
Travel Insurance can be added at any point; however, in order to receive the full benefit of the travel insurance, you must add it during booking. Otherwise, the "Cancel For Any Reason" benefit will not apply and only in-travel issues will be for available to submit for a claim. Please note that once purchased, travel insurance is nonrefundable.
Trip Cancellation Terms: Cancellation penalties could be up to 100% of the cost of your vacation. If you do not purchase insurance, you are responsible for any cancellation penalties. Jennifer Brown and Vagablonde Travel, are not responsible for any cancellation penalties you may incur or any additional monies you may cause your roommate to incur. Jennifer Brown and Vagablonde Travel are not liable or responsible for any expenses incurred as a result of cancellation & interruption, emergency medical/transportation, loss of baggage & personal effects, flight & travel accident, and/or rental car physical damage if insurance is not paid. Please see below for cancellation dates.
CAN I BOOK MY OWN FLIGHTS?
SURE! Please just choose the resort only option!
WILL I NEED A PASSPORT?
YES! A passport is needed to fly to and from the U.S. and Mexico. - please take the time now to locate your passport and check the expiration date; make sure it is valid for 6 months after your anticipated return date. IS THERE A TOURIST VISA FEE?
Your tourist VISA fee should be included with your airfare. You should not need to purchase a separte tourist VISA to enter Mexico.
IS THERE A DRESS CODE AT THE RESORT?
Yes! They even have some fun theme nights I’ll give you more information about as we get closer! For breakfast and lunch, swimsuits and cover ups with sandals are fine but for dinner I suggest snappy casual resort wear!
WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE?
The weather in Mexico is hot and humid with averages in the 80s year around. Humidity is lowest during Dec-Feb and increases the closer you get to August. Hurricane season starts in June and continues through November. There is a gentle breeze that comes off the ocean on most days, so make sure to pack plenty of sunscreen because the breeze makes it easy to forget just how hot and strong the sun really is!
DO I NEED AN ADAPTER FOR MY ELECTRONICS?
You do not need an adapter for your electronics; the outlets in the Mexico will accept U.S. plugs.

WHAT IS THE ENVIRONMENTAL TAX?
The government of the state of Quintana Roo has approved for the municipality of Solidaridad a new “environmental tax” to all visitors when staying at hotels, motels or guesthouses in the area. This tax will be a flat fee of 20.00 pesos ($1.00 usd approx.) per night, per room. This amount will be charged to all guests and must be paid upon arrival or before departure. Some hotel have not started to implement this, but we suggest you prepare for it and bring cash.
